Who made the decision on which Boots stores would get a stand? I was slightly disheartened to find that Milton Keynes wasn’t one of the lucky ones. That being said the nearest reachable counter was just over 10 miles away, must be pretty awesome to get the stand over my huge local branch?!
Or so I thought until ‘You have reached your destination’ resonated through my sound system and I found myself in nothing more than a basic retail park plonked by the side of the motorway. Random is the word that springs to mind but it turned out to be my lucky day. There is nothing more satisfying then walking towards a fully stocked counter with make - up wipes on tap. Having heard other bloggers nightmare empty stand stories, I truly was in Nyx heaven. After 30 minutes of intense swatching, my lips left feeling insanely smug.
I am so pleased with what I picked up and the new additions came from the matte lip cream and liquid suede family. I got some real corkers and am making a huge effort to push the boundaries of my repetitive nudes and embrace some darker tones and hot neon numbers.
First up are my matte picks, waterproof liquid lipsticks are my jam and steaming ahead is Cannes with It’s warm peachy nude tones this is perfect for every day make up, then comes Copenhagen oozing class and sophistication, both shades giving a current lipstick/lip liner duo a run for its money and at £5.50 It's perfect for those unable to afford the shipping costs. These sweetly scented colours are lightweight, creamy and durable.
Now I wasn’t sure if I should delve into the liquid suede section but Jeez am I glad I did. It’s really worth trying those colours you never thought would suit you because this formula makes my lips resemble a certain Kardashian sister. I popped Sway a hot purple into my basket and finished off the set with a dark grey going by the name Stone Fox. These are perfect for a night out or an Ibiza season and should in no way be over looked as ‘too out there for you’. From now on I'm trying brightest and boldest colours and I shall rock them. All the Nyx products are cruelty free, now what are you waiting for?
